My wife Darlene and I joined the IMC shortly after we got our first Miata, a 2008 Copper Red PRHT GT. One of our first experiences with the club was running the rallies prior to the 2008 MMG. We were fortunate enough to get selected from the waiting list and were able to attend that rally. What a way to start! Our regret is that we get a Miata years (decades) sooner. As transplants from the Chicago area, we enjoy the more curvy and hilly backroads of the southern half of Indiana, along with the places we have discovered through the friendships we have developed with club members. Please be sure to contact me with your questions and ideas for the club. If I don’t have an immediate answer for you, I will get you in touch with those that do. |

I joined the Indy Miata Club in 2007 shortly after purchasing my 2006 MX-5 (Miata) Grand Touring. I had recently been transplanted from New Hampshire and having sold my 2003 Shinsen Version prior to the move, I was anxious to return to the fold. I became a rally organizer in April of my first year helping with the Post Tax Blues Rally and have been active since.
Since joining the club, I have been fortunate enough to find a navigator to help keep me on the straight and narrow; of course when we're in the MX-5 it's more like the curvy and narrow. Joan and I organized our first rally together last year (2008) and also organized two more rallies this year.
I love getting out on the back roads of Indiana, letting loose and having a fun spirited drive whenever I can get the opportunity. Hope to see you all on the road.
Be sure to get in touch if you have any ideas for events or if you would like some assistance in organizing an event; it's a lot easier than you might think. |

We joined the Gateway (St Louis) Miata Club in the spring of 2000, shortly after purchasing our 1999 Emerald Mica. I became the GMC vice-prez in 2002, and served in that position for 3 years. (GMC does not replace its President annually like Indy does.) I moved to the position of GMC newsletter publicist in 2005, continuing those duties through 2009.
We relocated to Indianapolis in July of '05, actually joining the Indy Miata Club several months before the move.
I was elected to my first term as Indy Miata Club treasurer in 2008, and have served as treasurer since that time. (Yes, there are a couple of years where I was an officer in both clubs. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do!) |

Joined the club in 2002, have served as Events Coordinator, Vice President for a week or two, and then President in 2009. Now hanging around as the Membership Director. I'll get your membership set up and your name tags in the mail just as soon as I get back from this little drive I'm gonna take... |

Larry and I joined the club in 2008, shortly after purchasing our new Miata the spring of 08. We own a Highland Green retractable hard top and we both have a great time driving it. It has been a lot of fun getting together with other club members that enjoy their cars just as much as we do. We've tried our hands at organizing a few events and plan to organize more as time goes on. As of December 2011, I became the new editor for the Open Road, after Sara got burnt out with it. Although I enjoy designing stuff on the computer, I'm not that much into writing so I'm going to need all the help I can get with articles from those that do. Please send me any information that you would like to see in the newsletter or that you feel would be helpful/interesting to other members. |

I was first introduced to the IMC as an invited guest/navigator by Ken Rabbers in November, 2007. I became official navigator and a club member in October, 2008 when Ken and I married. Just prior to that first rally start, Ken informed me that he liked to drive in a "spirited" fashion but promised not to do anything that would imperil life or limb (whew....). On the way home following the rally, I let him know that if I was invited to participate as his navigator again, he should not hold back. I love it. Over the past few years, we have made wonderful friends in the club and enjoy hosting rallies as well as just going along for the ride! |
